Apple releases Schoolwork 2.1 Beta, bringing new APIs to developers

Apple announced the release of its classroom application Schoolwork 2.1 beta in a news published on its developer website. School homework allows teachers and students to be in the same place, and helps educators track homework and student progress.

This news update prompts developers to update their own apps with the latest ClassKit features (such as the new ClassKit Catalog API), which allows you to “instead of pre-declaring context at runtime, including keywords, and supporting a large number of assignable Activities.” It also allows teachers to browse your app activity in the Schoolwork app before downloading and running your app on their device.
The latest version of Schoolwork is a powerful iPad application for teachers and students to help them track homework and student progress. Make sure your app takes advantage of the latest ClassKit features to provide a great user experience. Using the new ClassKit Catalog API, you can declare the context in advance, instead of declaring the context at runtime, including keywords and supporting allocatable activities. Teachers can browse your application activities in Schoolwork before running your application on the device for the first time. The REST API has provided a beta version, which can be tested through Schoolwork 2.1. On iPadOS 14, ClassKit supports rich new metadata attributes to make it easier for teachers in Schoolwork to discover your content.
Apple provides developers with more information about the new ClassKit Catalog API and the ability to download the beta version of the Schoolwork 2.1 application.
