Apple's "folding screen camera" patent exposure: modular camera takes photos as you like
Recently, Apple filed a new patent application with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) called "Camera System for Flexible Electronic Devices." There are reports that Apple is testing two foldable designs with Foxconn, one of which is similar to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2, which can turn the iPhone into an iPad through a book-like structure.
In the patent application file, Apple stated: “This is an electronic device that can have a flexible shell formed of flexible fabric, flexible polymer or other flexible materials. The camera can be mounted on the shell, and the shell can be bent into different shapes. For example, the housing has a convex surface facing the outer area and the housing has a concave surface facing the outer area. The cameras can have their own camera image capturing directions. By bending the housing to adjust the camera direction, the camera can be used to capture panoramic images or three-dimensional image."
The camera on the back of the fuselage will be connected to the phone by using wired or wireless technology, which means that the camera can be placed on the shell worn by the phone instead of directly on the phone. And because of the detachable structure, the user can freely choose the camera module.
