The new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 folding smartphone is now available. But how is it different from its predecessor Galaxy Z Fold 2? Here is a good description of the difference between the two.

From an aesthetic point of view, there is almost no difference (if any) between Galaxy Z Fold 2 and Galaxy Z Fold 3. They all fold inward and have two screens, one folds up and the other device on the outside. Because the standard when the Galaxy Z Fold 2 is opened is 195.2x128.2x6.9 mm, the standard when folded is 159.2x68x13.8 mm, and the standard when opened is 159.2x128.1x6.4 mm, and the standard when folded is 158.2x67.1x14 mm, so the standard is slightly lowered. The weight of the new version has been reduced by about 10 grams, but it still weighs 271 grams on the scale. According to Samsung, it is also waterproof, while the Galaxy Z Fold 2 does not, and it provides a more stable structure.

Higher refresh rate and S Pen support
Regarding the screens, they have the same diagonal, which is 6.23 inches on the outside and 7.6 inches on the inside. The latter is still compatible with HDR10+, but adds support for the S Pen (Samsung's stylus for taking notes or drawing). However, within the range of the manufacturer's Galaxy Note, there is no Bluetooth to prevent remote operation. The internal display still benefits from a 120 Hz refresh rate, which is the same as the Galaxy Z Fold 2, but the version 3 also supplies 120 Hz on the external screen, which is different from its predecessor, which is limited to 60 Hz. The top of the main (inner) screen is different, because there is a camera under the device, and under the Galaxy Z Fold 2, there is a punch that can transmit the scene to the sensor located at the back.
