Mobile phone image sensor market share released in the first half of the year, Sony leads Samsung second

In the early days, the lens pixels of smartphones were mostly only about 3 million to 5 million. At the time, smartphones could only do simple daily shooting, and were simply not competent for formal shooting tasks. Nowadays, the quality of mobile phone lenses has become higher and higher, with pixels long past 100 million. At the same time, many photographers also choose to use smartphones for simple shooting tasks. Recently, Strategy Analytics released the latest research report "Smartphone Image Sensor Market Share Report for the First Half of 2021". Mobile China will take everyone to take a look.

Data shows that in the first half of 2021, the global smartphone image sensor market has a total revenue of 7 billion U.S. dollars, and revenue has increased by more than 10%. Among them, Sony ranked first with a 42% share. Samsung followed closely with a share of 25%. Ranked third is OmniVision, with a share of 13%. It can be seen from the above data that the shares of these three manufacturers add up to 80%, and most mobile phones use sensors from these three companies.

Although Sony has not performed well in the smartphone market, its mobile phone image sensors have always been welcomed by the market. For example, the three rear cameras of Apple's annual flagship iPhone 13 Pro Max all come from Sony.
